Today I'm playing follow my muse
So far my muse wants me to buy eggs, so can make a lemon drizzle cake and embroidery thread.
I remind my muse that this is a writing day, that I have deadlines and stories to tell.
My muse says, just go along with it, you’ve got plenty of time. Besides, this’ll be fun.
So I’m following my muse. At the very least, there’ll be cake.

Humid with the possibility of some reading
Not a bad day today. Made epic bike journeys from South London to East London to North London to West London and back to South London. Weather wasn’t sunny but warmish and humid. Scored half price copies of The Boys by Garth Ennis Volumes 1-4 and Transmetropolitan - Lonely City by Warren Ellis, £36 well spent.

Nits: Even though protag is 12 I still might avoid using misspellings like ‘cos’ unless you go all out. Didn’t think you need to mention her age twice. I’m guessing all the ‘anyways’ are on purpose, but they are a bit distracting. Solid start :]

Poetry interrupted. How about a story instead?
So I’m a little behind on the poems. Nothing’s coming at the moment. I think I’ve just hit the wall, so I’m going to just leave my brain to stew for a few days and then catch up. In the meantime, I was working on this just before I started the NaPoWriMo challenge. Just an exercise trying to to tell a story from a teenage character/voice perspective.

Write what you want to know.
Confront the questions and puzzles and secrets and I-wonder-hows and what-ifs that itch at the back of your brain late at night, and make up the answers. Just make them up. Then write the living fuck out of them.

Hurrah! Second story finished. The experiment is working. Who knew that the most effective incentive for me to write (in a disciplined way) would also be my most effective distraction from writing. Ah, sweet, sweet interwebz. How I love you/hate you.
Trying to ration my internet usage. 1 story finished = 1 hour of internet time. So far it’s working and I have approximately 21 minutes of internet time left before the next story. Suddenly surfing time is precious time.
